Over the past few weeks, what the world knew as normal has tremendously changed. That being said, what we know as the role of caregiver has changed as well. As you know DLW Purple Gloves envisions a world where caregivers are celebrated and reminded that what they do is valued. Therefore, as opposed to doing our normal Caregiver of the Month Token of Appreciation, we changed what we know as normal too; we made the decision to bless some special caregivers - essential workers.
Essential workers are those individuals that are leaving the safety of their homes on a daily basis to ensure the needs of others are met. In an effort to show how much essential workers are valued and appreciated, DLW Purple Gloves presented six essential workers with a small token of appreciation, to show how much we value them and what they do. Essential workers are risking their lives as well as their family members lives daily by showing up to their essential jobs ensuring the necessities of society are fulfilled. Please help me congratulate some special caregivers! There's no cash value we can put on what you do nor is there enough words we can say to tell you how much we appreciate you. Keep doing what you do and continue to stay save. #BeBlessed #TrustTheProcess #StaySafe Congratulations to our April recipients! Thank you for answering the call! May God continue to bless each of you!

Hello everyone, many times I am asked the question "Why DLW Purple Gloves?" The answer is pretty simple. As many of you may or may not know DLW are my mother's initials. On our home page you will see a picture of her that says "In Memory Of" with her name following. The gloves represent the punch of knocking out stress and the fight to educate on the importance of self-care.
When I was my mother's caregiver, I didn't realize how stressed out I was and I really didn't realize how I had neglected self. See when people would see me I always had a smile on my face; the reality behind that smile is what people on the outside looking in did not see. Many days I sat home with my mother very sad because I couldn't get out and do things that I wanted to do. Many days I would cry and no one would even know. Caring for an incapacitated loved one takes a lot from the caregiver. Caregivers are often overwhelmed, in dyer need of respite, unknowingly stressful. See the caretaker's life essentially becomes the caregiver's life and that's when it all hits the fan. DLW Purple Gloves is determined to continually educate caregiver's on the importance of self-care and the dangers of stress. Greater things are planned for 2020 and we hope you join us as we strive to ensure that caregiver's across the globe are honored monthly with our Caregiver's Token of Appreciation and our Annual Caregiver's Retreat! Thank you for your continued support of our 2020 vision as we continue to carry out on our mission.! |
