D.L.W. Purple Gloves is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was started in memory of Mrs. Dortha L. Wilson (D.L.W). After the transitioning of D.L.W. in March, 2017, her daughter found herself needing something to do to occupy her idle time. In April, 2017, Gloria S. Rogers received a vision from God to start a non-profit organization. Having served as a caregiver for many years to her mother who suffered with dementia, Gloria felt a need to take a stand for individuals who may be experiencing, or have experienced, what she'd experienced as a caregiver. In May, 2017 D.L.W. Purple Gloves was launched.
Gloria S. Rogers was born and raised in Memphis, TN; she is the founder, visionary, and CEO of D.L.W. Purple Gloves & Cre8vD'ZinesbyGSR. She is also the owner of Glorious Dayz Travel and Kirsten Diane Sunglasses & Bags (an affiliate of D.LW.Purple Gloves).
A person with a heart of gold and will give you the world if she could, Gloria is a woman that loves the LORD and enjoys going to church. Other hobbies include: singing, dancing, mentoring, and giving back.
She is passionate about living a happy life and dismisses all NEGATIVITY!
Mission Statement
D.L.W Purple Gloves endeavors to educate, encourage, and empower caregivers of individuals experiencing progressive debilitating conditions. D.L.W. will honor a caregiver once per month with a Caregiver Token of Appreciation, letting them know the magnitude of what they do is understood and valued. We will host an annual prayer breakfast fund-raiser, honoring the memory of Dortha L. Wilson. D.L.W. will do everything in its power to lessen what caregivers may be afraid to speak out about including the need for respite support, feeling overwhelmed, and losing their own lives to a certain degree.
